This week we got the biggest update yet to our soundbank. Over last weekend we recorded voice over for a bunch of different announcers. Our sound guy, Spencer, did an amazing job of making all the announcers sound different and delivered 7 different announcers in a week. My job of implementing them wasn’t that difficult because he tied them all up very nicely with events. All I had to do was trigger events for game starting, the countdown, exclamations when the player does something good, and game over. I was setup so I can just change the announcer switch and then every event will play the currently selected announcer. The actual hardest part of this update was setting up the UI to select your announcer.
